CloudLinux Fully Featured Shared License

What is CloudLinux?

CloudLinux is a linux based operating system designed to give shared hosting providers a more stable and secure OS. Essentially a set of kernel modifications to the Linux distribution, CloudLinux implements features to enable system administrators to take fine-grained control of their server's resource usage.

  • Increased stability
  • Heightened security
  • Performance
  • Scalability

CloudLinux Advantages?

shared Licenses support
Resource allocation -: CloudLinux allows assigning dedicated resources to each account. Therefore, a single account doesn't consume too many resources and negatively affect the performance of other accounts on the server.
shared Licenses support
Increased stability -: The server's stability is enhanced because of efficient resource allocation. One account doesn't monopolize server resources and cause performance issues for others. Sudden traffic spikes or high resource usage from one account won't affect the server or other accounts.
shared Licenses support
Compatibility -: CloudLinux is compatible with multiple control panels, such as cPanel, DirectAdmin, and Plesk. Therefore, web hosts can seamlessly integrate CloudLinux into their existing hosting infrastructure without having to change their control panel or server management software.
shared Licenses support
Heightened security -: Cloud Linux's security features ensure that malicious users cannot attack other accounts on the server.
shared Licenses support
Improved database performance. -: The MySQL Governor feature in CloudLinux tracks resource usage for each user and stops abusers in real-time. This feature improves overall database performance.
shared Licenses support
Greater flexibility -: The ability to choose which PHP version to use ensures the servers are compatible with the specific version of PHP they need.

A Personal Set of Server Resources for Each Customer

With the LVE technology in CloudLinux, each customer’s website account has a separate set of allocated resources. LVE ensures that these resources are not shared with any other website accounts.

Stable Hosting Environments

Sudden traffic spikes from one website account will never mean downtime for any other website account or the server as a whole. Since every website account has its own allocated resources they remain protected. This keeps websites running even if a sudden spike in resource usage comes from other websites hosted on the server.

Secured & Hardened Kernel

CloudLinux’s hardened kernel helps prevent malicious users from attacking other website accounts hosted on the same server.

Multiple Versions of PHP

CloudLinux has a built-in feature called PHP selector. It allows end users to select the specific version of PHP they need. This allows ultimate flexibility by offering all popular versions of PHP, including more than 120 PHP extensions to choose from. The convenient UI lets customers switch between versions, select extensions, and adjust PHP settings as needed.

Stable Mysql Database Performance

MySQL often becomes a major headache for system admins in shared hosting environments. Keeping MySQL stable can be difficult, and customer queries can easily slow everything down.

The MySQL Governor feature of CloudLinux helps system admins pinpoint abusers and throttle them in real time. It tracks CPU and disk IO usage for every website account in real time and reduces MySQL queries by using same-per-user LVE limits. With support for the latest versions of MySQL and MariaDB, it is a must-have for any shared hosting provider.

System requirements

Supported Hardware

CloudLinux OS Shared runs on all the hardware supported by CentOS/RHEL

Supported Operating Systems

CloudLinux OS Shared can be installed on new Linux servers or can convert existing CentOS/RHEL servers with a single script without any customer configs or data changes. CloudLinux’s CentOS-like interface alleviates the learning curve and makes administrators feel instantly at home.

Compatibility

CloudLinux OS Shared is fully compatible with cPanel, DirectAdmin, and Plesk control panels and with most software commonly used with CentOS and RHEL. For all other control panels, we have implemented a single mechanism that allows to integrate CloudLinux OS Shared into any control panel.

Control Panels

WHM/cPanel version 11.76 or higher

DirectAdmin version 1.57 or higher

Latest Plesk Version

What are the limits of CloudLinux Manager?

Controlling LVE limits

Sets CPU limit to 25%, IO limit to 1024KB/s, virtual memory limit to 1GB (memory limit is set as a number of 4096 bytes pages), physical memory limit to 1GB, CPU cores per LVE to 1, maximum entry processes to 200 and no limit for number of processes for all LVEs.
